Camp Sherman, Oregon was originally founded in 1949 after its large community hall center finished completion. Luther Metke, the main contractor who designed the hall, built the structure in order to attract new residents to the community, a strategy that worked well and helped to see Camp Sherman blossom into the cute little community that it is today.
