Step down to the beach-level deck and go tide pooling, cast a fishing line in the water or simply relax and enjoy the passing parade of yachts, pleasure craft and ferries.
Guests frequently comment that a stay at Otter Rock is a National Geographic experience. Routine wildlife visitors include river otters, harbor seals, sea lions, bald eagles and raccoons. Frequently you will spot minks, red squirrels, Pileated Woodpeckers, many varieties of sea ducks, seals, and occasionally Orca and humpback whales.
You are a ten minute walk to the entrance to Gowlland Tod Provincial Park where you may hike, mountain bike or simply stroll to the stunning MacKenzie Bight with your picnic lunch.
Its a 10 minute drive to Durrance Lake for swimming and fishing. Within 20 minutes you may find yourself in downtown Victoria, world famous Butchart Gardens or Brentwood Bay where you can rent kayaks or catch the ferry for an up-island tour.
Kindly note, Otter Rock is built into a steep hillside. It boasts four floors and is not handicapped accessible and not recommended for young children.
